Happy Sunday lovelies, I hope you’re all well. Today I have two posts going up. So make sure you head back here at 8pm tonight for my April favourites.
In this post, I have some products to share with you.
Before I start, I want to clarify that these were gifted to me and all opinions I am about to share are my own. I have not been paid for this review, I will also not be sharing anything but my opinion.
So now that that’s out the way, let’s begin with my review.
Monat: Rejuvenique oil intensive
This oil can be used on your hair and body, so I decided to test this out on my body considering the other three products gifted to me were designed for my hair only.
I rubbed the oil into my elbows because I find that they get dry very quickly. The smell of the oil is very strong, it’s a citric smell so it’s not bad, it’s just very strong.
Unfortunately for me, I had a reaction to the oil, I’m not sure why, but my elbows began to rash and was very itchy. I had to wash it off within minutes of application. I am not saying there’s anything wrong with the product, but it wouldn’t be a fair review if I didn’t include it and someone else had the same reaction.
I give it a 2/5.
Monat: renew shampoo hydration
When I first went to use it I was put off by the smell. I only use coconut hair products because they’re best suited for my hair. I can’t really describe the smell, but it’s definitely not something I would reach for. I put that aside and gave this a try.
The first wash, it doesn’t foam up as much as your usual shampoo and that’s because it’s stripping your hair from excess oils, products and other things that we use that’s actually quite damaging to our heads. My hair is thick so regardless I would have had to do two lots of shampoo. The second time, it foamed up and made my hair feel less thick.
I was only able to use this in one shower because of the thickness and the length of my hair, but I believe that if I was to use it more, I would have high results. It did help with my scalp, it reduced it’s redness and it wasn’t as itchy.
I give this a 4/5
Monat: replenish masque hydration
I didn’t think it would be fair to use this straight after using the shampoo like you’re meant to because I wouldn’t be able to tell which product worked and which didn’t. So I used this a few days later. Again, like the shampoo it didn’t have the best smell. It wasn’t as strong as the shampoo but the smell was definitely there.
I used this after washing my hair with my usual shame because as I mentioned above, I had already ran out of shampoo sample. It was easy to apply, a little messy trying to get it out of the packet, but I managed it in the end. I left the mask on for 10 minutes before washing it out.
It made my hair look shiny against but I don’t know what else it did for it. I didn’t see a huge different in my hair but that could be because you need to use the shampoo and mask together and not mix it with different products.
I give this a 3/5.
Monat: restore leave in conditioner hydration
I look leave in conditioners but that’s because I’m so lazy half the time I don’t want to stand there under cold water to wash it out. (Always wash conditioners off under cold water!) I actually really liked the smell of this conditioner. It was a pleasant surprise considering I didn’t like the smell of the other hair products.
The leave in conditioner left my hair looking amazing, it had worked miracles and made it look like it had some sort of life to it, it was glossy, it was thick but an easy thickness. My hair looked as if I had just came out of a salon after they did some work on it. I think out of all the products this one is definitely my favourite.
I give this a 5/5.
