How I’ve been looking after my skin

Hello,

Today I thought I would pop in an extra post because I haven’t technically participated in Blogmas this year. I also have a post going u tomorrow but I do understand that it is Christmas so many of you will not be able to read my post, but if you do find the time, it will be live an hour early (7pm).

Today I wanted to share with you how I have been looking after my skin, during the colder months, my skin tends to break out a lot more, usually in the same places. This year was no different, I still had some major breakouts but I have been able to semi-control them.

One thing I never thought of doing before was moisturising my face after getting out of the shower. You’re probably thinking that I’m an idiot for not doing this, but my face goes incredibly dry and sensitive, so I tend to avoid touching it. Luckily I have found a cream that has sort of fixed my issue, my skin is still over sensitive but it’s not as dry. This is all thanks to The Body Shop vitamin E cream. I have used it for the last few weeks and it has made a difference. So if you’re not one to usually moisturise after a shower or bath, try it. You’ll soon see a difference. After all, if you’ll moisturise the rest of your body, why leave out the most important part?

This may sound a bit off, but I have avoided using my spot treatment cream as much as possible. I used to use the Simple products everyday, morning and night, but I have limited myself to using them just twice a week. I also haven’t been wearing a lot of make-up, so my face hasn’t been clogged up with that. Instead of using my usual routine, I started to use a flannel with warm water to wash my face, then I applied my vitamin E cream. Once a week I also treat myself to a face mask, whether that be a sheet, scrub, cream, just something good for my skin.

It’s not just my face that I have been looking after, it’s my whole body. My issue is, I come up with stress spots, on my ribs, arms and legs and they are just as annoying as chicken pox, lately saying that have been stressed would be an understatement, so of course these annoying spots cropped up. I decided to help my skin I would stop using perfumed shower gels, so I scrapped my mango body wash and started using my mineral shower gel again. The smell is not the greatest but the impact that it has on your skin is incredible.

During the colder months, I always find myself reaching for a sugar scrub too, I like to completely go to town on my skin, so I use a scrub 3 times a week. I then use a body butter and honestly make my skin shiny af! You can glide from my legs if you really wanted.

Lets be honest though, I am not an expert on how to to look after your skin, or even what products you should and should not use. I recently came across this article though, and I found it 100% helpful so I thought I would share it with you too. It’s very informative and I believe it would benifit a few of you who read it. Click here to read it. It mentions Mr Zoolander (yes from the film!) So it’s worth the read!
