Happy Wednesday my loves, how are you? How has your Wednesday been? Today I had the day off work, but I haven’t actually stopped working, I spent my morning babysitting, doing housework and running errands as well as trying to vlog. I then spent my afternoon working on my blog, reaching out to companies and promoting my posts, I have also vlogged, finished reading Twilight and I have cooked dinner, showered, and now I am watching a bit of TV while I get myself ready for bed.
Tonight I am bringing you a review on one of the most hyped books. This book has been all over social media recently, mainly in a negative light, but I am here to tell you my honest opinion.
I saw a lot of people hype over the fact “Zoella” was bringing out a new book and I thought for once I’ll follow the crowd and see if its all that its made out to be. I wont lie, I don’t follow Zoe religiously, I watch her vlogs every now and then, purchase a product from one of her many ranges if I need something and like her Instagram photos when I see them in my feed and that’s about it. I know so many people who brought her book are super fans and follow her every move but I don’t see what the big deal is? No offence to Zoe because I think what she has achieved is absolutely amazing, but when you think about it, if I put that amount of effort into something and I worked hard on the thing I love, I could quite easily be in the same boat at Zoe, as could you! This is why I am not obsessed with her, instead I congratulate and help her reach her next goal from the side lines.
Zoe’s new book is a seasonal guide to hosting any occasion and making memories out of every day. She has sectioned this book into the four seasons, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. In each season she has filled the pages with beautiful pictures, tasty recipes, clear step by step DIY’s and shares a story or two along the way. The book retails for £10 and I believe this definitely could have had a higher marketing price due to the content inside.
Now, I’ve seen a few articles and videos of people sharing their dislike to this book (which is fine, everyone has the tight to an opinion) and I have also seen a few articles about how this book is nothing but a scam. I have put together a list of five points on why I love this book and why I believe its not a scam.
My real opinions
- Easy to follow recipes.
I am not a huge cook I can only do really simple things and I am on a such a weight watch that I will only cook healthy things anyway. Zoe has some really great recipes throughout her book, some that I will not be making because they are more sweet treats but there a few recipes in the book that I will definitely be recreating in the future.
What I love about her recipes is that they obviously give you the ingredients but she also gives you a note of essential equipments to house so you’re not guessing what utensils you’re going to need.
- Zoe’s mums tips.
I love this little edition where Zoe’s mum shares her little tips and tricks. I think it really adds to the feel of the homely book. Her tips remind me of the things that my nan tells me and I just think that it’s really sweet that her parents had something to do with this creation too.
- Event inspiration
I am such a Party Planner honestly if you want a party it comes to me and I will plan it for you I always buzzing with ideas and I feel like I can relate to Zoe on that level because some of her party ideas and some of her get-togethers are exactly what I love to create.
I love how will she years are such simplistic ideas together to create something memorable I think my favourite event that she says is her dog Nala’s birthday.
- New stories
Zoe shares a lot of her life online through her vlogs and her general YouTube channel but I feel like you get to know a different side of her in this book. You get a more personal side of her, and I actually love it.
I’m not a huge fan of DIY’s to be honest because a) I don’t have the time to create them, and b) I don’t have a creative bone in my body. I get bored of them very quickly and I give up halfway through but some of the DIY is that so he has shared I am actually going to create because they are super super simple.
Overall I love this book I definitely don’t think that is a scam. It’s worth every penny, I’ll be keeping it on my shelf for future references. I’m not a huge fan of Zoe’s just because I don’t relate to her but will definitely purchase a similar product if she was to bring one out.
Thank you for reading, I hope you have enjoyed this post, if you have leave a like and comment below. I’d love to know if there are any other products of Zoe’s that you would like me to try out.
Sending you all my love, and I’ll see you on Friday with a brand new post.
